They’re genuine new old stock (NOS): original, unused items that have been in storage for decades. You may see small shop marks or light oxidation from age, but there’s no prior field use.

Can you restock items once they sell out?

Usually not. Most pieces are one-off finds from closed stock, so availability is limited. If something you want is sold, set an alert or check back, similar items may appear, but we can’t guarantee timing.

What preparation should I do before first use?

Hone the factory edge (e.g., 1000 → 3000/4000 → 6000–8000 water stones), wipe off any old packing residue, and apply a thin coat of camellia or light mineral oil. If timber is dry, refresh with a suitable oil or wax. Plane users may also wish to fine-tune the sole and fit.
