The Sakai BONSAI Carbon Steel Hori Hori is a 300mm Japanese soil knife for planting, transplanting, dividing and cutting smaller roots in beds, pots and tight rows. Its 170mm × 3mm 55C carbon-steel blade combines a straight cutting edge with a serrated edge.

At approximately 220g, it is the lighter carbon-steel hori hori in this range. Choose it for everyday control and value; choose the Gyokucho when you want a thicker, heavier blade, or the stainless BONSAI when lower maintenance matters more.
