Precisely engineered blade with two angles that produces smooth cuts without crushing plant tissue. Okatsune pruning shears are a bypass type secateur, and the main cutting blade aligns perfectly with the receiving blade, achieving precise cuts every time, even with extended heavy use.
Forged from Hitachi metals Premium Izumo Yasugi steel and hardened to a very high Rockwell hardness of 60-61, these pruning shears are razor sharp and hold their edge through extended heavy use time after time. The 200mm model handles branches 10-15mm thick in diameter, depending on the cutting technique and whether cutting green or dead branches.
The coloured rubber grips on the handles are designed to be easily seen if placed on the ground, red in day light and white for nocturnal gardeners.
It is recommended to clean blades free of sap and apply oil directly after each use, and store moisture-free with the pruning shears in the closed position.
