Fast splash-and-go feel with finishing polish

The Naniwa Gouken Hayabusa #4000 grit whetstone delivers a refined finish with minimal preparation. Splash with water and sharpen; it does not need a long soak. The 4000 grit surface is best used after a medium stone, refining a working edge rather than repairing damage.

Made in Osaka by Naniwa, the Hayabusa gives smooth feedback and a clean polishing step for knives, carving tools and other fine edge tools. It is not intended for ceramic knives.

Pair it with the Naniwa Gouken Deluxe 1000 grit whetstone for the working edge before finishing, and keep the surface true with the Grooved Flattening Stone. Browse the full Japanese tool care and sharpening range for stones, oil and blade maintenance.

Tip: Use light pressure on finishing stones. Let the stone refine the edge rather than forcing it.

Maintenance

Use with water only. Rinse after sharpening and allow the stone to dry naturally in the shade. Keep the surface flat with a Grooved Flattening Stone so the polishing surface stays consistent.
