Description

Build a complete Japanese garden tool and care setup

Choose one Azui cultivation tool, one Tobisho Type A or Type B pruning shear, one hori hori and one Japanese sickle. The Japanese Garden Tool Maintenance Kit with Wooden Toolbox is included as a fixed part of every set.

Starting price: The displayed price is the lowest-priced configuration. Your final bundle price updates with the selected tools and is confirmed before checkout. The advertised saving is measured against the current individual prices of your selected tools.

Together, the bundle covers cultivation, planting, pruning, clearing and routine tool care, with an automatic 15% bundle saving.

Choose your Azui soil tool

The No.106 can loosen soil between established roots where there is enough working space, but it is not a root axe and should not be used as a pry bar.

Choose your Tobisho pruning shear

  • Type A: thinner blade profile for finer, smoother pruning cuts.
  • Type B: more robust blade profile for general garden pruning and slightly stronger work.
  • 180mm and 185mm: compact handling for smaller hands or close pruning.
  • 200mm: fuller grip and greater leverage.

Choose your hori hori and sickle

Choose a hori hori according to blade material, blade shape, guard, handle and sheath preference. Its role is focused planting, transplanting and close digging. Construction and care requirements vary by model.

Choose a sickle according to blade shape, size and intended cutting work. Available options suit jobs such as cutting grass, young weeds, soft stems and garden growth, but exact uses and care requirements vary by model. A sickle does not replace secateurs, loppers or a pruning saw for woody material beyond the selected model's intended capacity.

Maintenance kit included

Every set includes the Japanese Garden Tool Maintenance Kit with Wooden Toolbox. It supports cleaning soil and plant residue, removing sap, rust prevention, protective oiling, routine edge care and organised storage of the included care products and accessories.

Not every selectable tool requires identical treatment, so follow the individual care requirements for the chosen hori hori and sickle.

Why this set works

The Azui tool handles cultivation and general soil work, the hori hori handles focused planting and close digging, the Tobisho shear handles pruning within secateur capacity, and the sickle handles grass, weeds and softer growth. The maintenance kit supports ongoing cleaning, protection and routine edge care.

Best suited to

  • Gardeners building one broad Japanese hand-tool setup
  • Buyers who want working tools and their care equipment together
  • Vegetable beds, herb gardens, borders and established plantings
  • Regular cultivation, planting, pruning and clearing
  • First-time Japanese tool buyers without suitable maintenance equipment

Choose another option if

  • You already own the required maintenance equipment.
  • You do not need a sickle.
  • You only need cultivation and pruning.
  • You need long-handled tools for standing work.
  • You need loppers or a pruning saw for heavier woody growth.
  • Your main work is heavy excavation or a large area of deeply compacted ground.

Maintenance

Clean and dry all working tools after use. Remove soil from the Azui head and hori hori, and remove sap and plant residue from the pruning blades and sickle. Apply a light coat of protective oil to exposed carbon-steel surfaces where applicable, and follow the selected hori hori and sickle care requirements.

Do not pry with the Azui tool, hori hori or pruning shears, and do not twist the shears. Use loppers or a pruning saw for branches beyond secateur capacity, and use the sickle only within the selected model's intended cutting capacity. Store the care products and small accessories in the wooden toolbox.
