Description

Angled precision for tight-space weeding

The Shozo “Knock Knock” sickle is a compact 120 mm stainless steel weeder designed for scraping and edging in confined areas. The angled head delivers controlled leverage for removing weeds between pavers, along stones, and around garden borders, places larger blades can’t reach.

Made in Japan with a lacquered hardwood handle, this rust-resistant sickle is light, durable, and easy to maintain compared to carbon steel models. For guidance on selection and sharpening, see our How to Choose and Use a Japanese Sickle guide.

Keep the edge tuned with a 1000 grit whetstone and clear debris using the Kespika rust eraser. Find additional styles and sizes in our Japanese Sickles collection. All orders ship Australia-wide from Perth with tracked delivery.

Tip: Work at a shallow angle, pulling toward you with light pressure to lift weed roots cleanly without disturbing nearby soil.

What Sets Our Tools Apart

Steel types

Stainless steel resists rust and needs less oil than carbon steel. It keeps a reliable working edge with simple care, ideal for humid gardens and coastal air.

Tool types

Angled weeders scrape in tight gaps and along edging. Round grass sickles suit sweeping cuts in soft growth. Harvest sickles focus on clean stem cuts.

Mass-produced vs hand-finished

Factory sickles skip fine adjustments. Shozo pieces are hand-assembled and tuned so the angled edge bites cleanly and lasts longer between touch-ups.
